TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigation team has seized more evidence in alleged graft in the development of Madiun market in East Java worth Rp76.523 billion.
Madiun administration secretary Maidi said that confiscation was made until late Wednesday night. The KPK investigators took 11 financial documents. “The confiscated documents were related to regional budget for 2009 to 2016,” he said on Wednesday night.
The KPK investigation team had repeatedly searched and seized documents from Madiun City Hall since October 17. The KPK also named Madiun Mayor Bambang Irianto as suspect on Wednesday in alleged graft in relation to the development of Madiun market.
Bambang was interrogated for the first time at the KPK building on November 8. After his second questioning on Wednesday, the Democratic Party politician was arrested by the KPK investigators.
The KPK investigation team also searched the City Hall’s general affairs divison office, Bambang’s residence, Bambang’s son Bonie Laksamana’s house and the house of Bambang’s little brother Bondan Panji Saputra, who also serves as Madiun city councilor.
