TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, handed over a kris to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo during the bilateral meeting between Dutch government with Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
PM Rutte said that the kris that he gave was one of many Indonesian artifact collections kept in Delft, one of the cities in Netherlands. “There are 1,500 artifacts that will be returned to Indonesia and this kris is the symbol,” Rutte said at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
Today, President Jokowi accepted Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s arrival. The economic and security agenda was one of the topics being discussed by the two countries. There are also 200 Dutch businessmen come along visiting Indonesia.
President Jokowi said that Netherlands is one of Indonesia’s main trading partners in Europe. According to him, Netherlands is the gateway for Indonesian products to enter the European market. In terms of an economic partnership, Netherlands is considered competent in their water management. Both countries also discussed the negotiating preparations of Indonesian-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA).
