TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives speaker Ade Komarudin has urged law enforcers to investigate the individual who spread the rumor about a massive money withdrawal or ‘rush money’ on November 25, 2016.
According to him, spreading a rumor like that is an irresponsible act and can potentially degenerate the nation. “It’s a criminal act. It's irresponsible and not good for this country,” Ade Komarudin said on Friday, November 18, 2016.
The Golkar politician asserted that such rumor could potentially lead the country to an economic loss and create a disturbance in the financial sector. “It’s really dangerous and [especially] conducted by irresponsible people,” he added.
A rumor said that on November 25, 2016, there would be a massive rally similar to the November 4, 2016, rally. The ‘rush money’ issue was spread through social media.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution urged the public to avoid shifting a political matter into a financial problem. He said that because the issue of November 25 rally is being connected to the demand of inactive Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama to be arrested for an alleged religion defamation.
Darmin said that spreading the ‘rush money’ rumor has no positive effect. If it happens, he would not know what implications would emerge.
