TEMPO.CO, JTangerang - Houses in Total Persada Residential Complex, Tangerang, have been inundated by 2-meter high waters since Sunday evening, Nov. 13, 2016. As many as 4,369 people from 1,802 head of household have been evacuated to shelters.
“They are being evacuated to safe shelters,” Tangerang Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) official Kamaludin told Tempo on Monday, November 14, 2016.
Kamaludin said that as of Monday noon, the evacuation process of flood victims continues. The agency has been moving the people who trapped by the flood to shelters and those who were going to work and school as flood has cut off the access road to the area. “Evacuation is carried out by inflatable boats,” he said.
Kamaludin said that people are being evacuated to Periuk Sub-district Sports Building, mosques and houses that are not affected by the flood.
