TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo once again said that he will not intervene in the legal process of the alleged blasphemy case committed by non-active Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).
"Since the beginning, I said that I don’t want to intervene in the legal process. Let the legal apparatus finish the case,” the President said in Jakarta.
The President added that the legal process has been in place even before the 4 November rally.
The police have also questioned a number of witnesses; yet, the President said, the legal process takes time.
Jokowi also hopes that legal apparatus won’t be given pressure or forced to arrest Ahok.
