Soekarno-Hatta Airport Step Up Security Ahead of Nov. 4 Protest

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The operator of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), has step up security ahead of November 4 protest. Over 400 personnel of the National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) have been deployed in the airport area.
“The number of personnel have been increased,” the Soekarno-Hatta Airport senior general manager Suriawan Wakan told Tempo on Wednesday.
Wakan said the Soekarno-Hatta Airport had been on alert after recent bomb attack in Paris. Alert status has also been accompanied by increased security guard and security checking.
“During such alert status, the airport is guarded by 350 TNI and Polri personnel. With regard to November 4 rally, we have got reinforcement of 100 more personnel from Brimob [Police Mobile Brigade],” Wakan said.
The TNI and Polri personnel will be assisted by aviation security staff of Angkasa Pura II. “We can assure yout that Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be more secure.”
