TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice Director of Danamon, Muliadi Rahardja, said that he had communicated intensively with the Danamon Labor Union (SP). The communication had enter the negotiation phase of the renewal of Joint Contract Agreement (PKB) for following up the Danamon Labor Union's demands.
"We are now in the negotiating phase of the PKB renewal," said Muliadi in a written statement, Friday, October 28, 2016. He said that the intensive communication with the Labor Union was mediated by the Labor Ministry.
The Danamon Labor Union demanded Danamon to stop the mass layoffs and to cease the so-called "training program" that was believed to be a method of firing employees. Other demands were the rejection towards on-leave money cuts and DPLK dues, also the rejection on outsourcing and certain-time-contract workers (PKWT). Danamon was also urged to bring back the insurance benefit, uniting the not-fixed-benefit employees (T3K) into their salaries, paying up their overtime money, rejecting force rank, and cancelling the COCP.
The demands appeared after Danamon had conducted a business transformation. According to Muliadi, the transformation was done to maintain business continuity in the midst of a competitive business climate. Danamon`s business transformation was done through various initiatives, such as business restructuring and consolidation. The initiatives impacted on operation network and workers.
Muliadi said he had made sure that the transformation was running well and in accordance with applicable provision and respecting all rights of workers. "For the workers who are affected (by the business transformation), the management prioritizes to give chances for filling vacant internal positions, giving necessary training, and also giving chances for workers to apply for early retirement."
According to Muliadi, the entire banking operations will run as usual during the Labor Union`s protest. The Danamon Labor Union held a long march from Tugu Tani to Jalan Cut Meutia and Jalan H.O.S. Cokroaminoto towards Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said.
