TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto said that the government appreciates the explanation delivered by the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono upon the whereabouts of the original Fact Finding Team's (TPF) files on Munir murder case. “The government appreciates SBY and Sudi Silalahi’s clarification upon the whereabouts of the original TPF files,” he said Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
Wiranto firmly said that there was no instruction from President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo to the Attorney General in order to investigate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as a former President. “There isn’t any,” he said. “I repeat, there is no such order, will, or desire from the President in order to investigate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as a former President.”
Wiranto asserted his statement regarding the news reports saying that Jokowi has ordered the Attorney General to investigate Munir’s TPF documents. Actually, the order was to search for the document's whereabouts. “Searching and investigating are two different things. Searching is normal, if there’s a news about something, then, we’ll search for it,” he said.
SBY, accompanied by the former cabinet secretary Sudi Silalahi, gave his statement in a press conference about the missing TPF documents. He explained that original TPF document was lost, but he is willing to hand out the copy which has the same exact content to the original.
Wiranto said, if the document is found, the Attorney General will analyze it and evaluate the report. The effort is done to determine the next steps that would need to be taken based on its legal processes. He added that it would take times since certain procedures need to be taken, so he hopes the public would patiently wait for the process.
