TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Interior Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said that he will announce an acting Jakarta Governor in place of Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama during his campaign leave. He said that the announcement will be made on Wednesday.
“On October 26, we will inaugurate 2-3 acting officials. Also on October 27,” he told reporters at the Presidential Palace on Monday, October 24, 2016.
Tjahjo went on to say that the acting Jakarta governor will be appointed by him, not by President Joko Widodo.
The Minister said that he is considering two candidates to fill in the post: Yuswandi A Temenggung and Soni Sumarsono, the Director General of Regional Autonomy of the Interior Ministry.
“Both will become acting officials, but they have not been assigned yet. One of them will serve in Jakarta,” he said.
