TEMPO.CO, JMakassar - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Agus Rahardjo said that his office may question former KPK chief Abraham Samad over alleged corruption in electronic identity card (e-KTP) procurement.
“It depends on what the investigators need,” Agus told reporters in Makassar on Monday, October 24, 2016.
He was asked whether Abraham would be questioned in the case. Reports said that Abraham Samad also set the requirements and guidance to Interior Ministry in relation to the project.
Agus, however, did not comment when asked about his willingness to be questioned by the KPK investigators. Former interior minister Gamawan Fauzi has named his involvement in the project.
Agus is a former official of the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP). He said he has warned the Interior Ministry over the e-KTP procurement.
“We had asked [Interior Ministry] to re-tender the project. They ignored it. But it is what it is,” he said.
Agus said the LKPP supervised the e-KTP project. According to him, the LKPP was the only agency asking the Interior Ministry to re-tender the project to get the best possible outcome.
“It’s a lesson learned,” Agus said.
