Maritime Ministry Performs Best: SMRC Survey

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-based pollster Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting program director Sirojudin Abbas has published survey result of the public assessment of ministry performances. The survey found that the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry’s performance is the most satisfactory.

“As many as 23 percent of people see that Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry performs the best,” Sirojudin said at Sari Pan Pacific Hotel, Central Jakarta, Sunday, October 23, 2016.

Sirojudin added that Religious Affairs Ministry ranks second with 8.4 percent. Followed by Education and Culture Ministry with 5.5 percent and Finance Ministry with 4.6 percent.

Whereas the public sees that the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs performs the worst with 7.6 percent. Followed by Youth and Sports Ministry with 4 percent and the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister ranks third with 3.8 percent.

However, President Joko Widodo’s Working Cabinet (Kabinet Kerja) overall performance is deemed satisfactory. As many as 54 percents of people are satisfied with the cabinet’s performance, some 30 percent are not satisfied and 9 percent are not sure.

As for President Joko Widodo’s performance, as many as 61.4 percent Indonesians are satisfied. Some 26.3 percent are less satisfied and 3 percent are not satisfied. “It shows that the people are quite satisfied with the President’s performance,” Sirojudin said.

The SMRC survey was conducted on October 13-17, 2016.
