TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - 570 participants from 20 teams coming from four countries took part in International Dragon Boat Festival (MIDBF) 2016 in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.

Committee chairman of MIDBF 2016 Tajuddin said that the four countries participated in the event were Australia, the Philipines, Brunei Darussalam, and Indonesia.

Indonesia as the host was represented by several teams from Jakarta, South Sulawesi, South Kalimantan Selatan, Central Kalimantan, and other teams from districts/cities in East Kalimantan.

MIDBF 2016 competition held on October 22-24, Tajuddin added, is focused in Pualu Kumala with Mahakam River as the the race track.

There are 8 categories of competition in the third MIDBF, which are 22-crew-category with 500 meter track mixed crews and 500 meter track men, 250 meter track mixed crews and 250 meter track men and 12-crew category with 250 meter men, 250 women, and 250 meter mixed crews.
