TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati today told Diploma I and III graduates of the STAN's State Finance Polytechnic not to betray Indonesia.
Speaking at the university's graduation ceremony at Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Bogor, Wednesday, October 19, the minister said that STAN graduates are lucky people because all 4,260 of them will immediately be placed in government institution once they pass the basic competency test.
"Meanwhile, there are 944,000 university and college graduates have no jobs and are now part of 7 million unemployed Indonesians," she said.
This privilege and status as PKN STAN graduates, Sri said, is a great opportunity and an honor that must not be tainted. "Do not betray the Republic of Indonesia," the minister reminded them.
She even told the graduates to take examples from STAN alumni who excel in serving the country and steer clear from those who damaged the alma mater's reputation.
In terms of managing state finances, Sri Mulyani asserted that their duty is to serve the public. "The state finance is not a personal finance," she said, and reminded that guarding the state finances for the sake of the people is a lifetime commitment.
She also reminded all alumni to maintain their dignity, honor, and professionalism. "Those things are not for sale," she said.
