TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Energy and Mineral Resources Deputy Minister Arcandra Tahar said that his institution will soon prepare an endeavor aiming at improving oil and gas exploration activities, following to a decline over the last few years.
"The oil and gas upstream sector begins with explorations," Arcandra told Tempo at the Energy and Mineral Ministry Office in Jakarta on Monday, October 17, 2016.

Arcandra revealed that the revision to the bill would be signed in the near future. Arcandra claimed that the Ministry was in communication with relevant stakeholders, including the Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Luhut confirmed that a team formed by the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry is currently looking into the issues with the declining exploration activities.
"The team is currently considering the best option. Everyone is doing their best," Luhut said.
