TEMPO.CO, Semarang - Central Java provincial government through its Population, Transmigration and Manpower Agency has sent 100 households, which consist of 366 people, to Bulungan regency, North Kalimantan Province, in a transmigration program.

"The households are from 10 regencies in Central Java, namely Grobogan, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara, Purworejo, Boyolali, Wonogiri, Magelang, Klaten, Kebumen, and Pemalang," said Head of Central Java Population, Transmigration and Manpower Agency Wika Bintang in Semarang on Sunday.

Wika said that the sending of those households is part of a special program in collaboration between Transmigration, Disadvantaged regions and Village Development Ministry, Central Java governor, North Kalimantan governor and Bulungan regent.

Before being sent to North Kalimantan, Wika said those residents have received a number of trainings in agriculture, horticulture, farming, culinary, and other skills that they can use to improve their welfare in their new area.
