TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Jakarta Cemetery and Garden Agency Djafar Muchlisin said the park near the Jakarta city hall is severely damaged after thousands of people from a number of Islamic community groups, including the Islamic Defense Front (FPI), staged a protest on Friday (14/10).
"The financial loss is estimated to reach tens of millions rupiah but we will calculate it,” Djafar said on Saturday.
According to Djafar, a team from the park agency will check the location on Saturday morning to assess the damage.
"Based on our first observation, some parts can still be five,” he added.
