TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential spokesman Johan Budi said that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is aware of the Central Information Commission (KIP) ruling on Munir Said Thalib’s case. Johan said that Jokowi has ordered the Attorney General Muhammad Prasetyo to find the document, which contains findings of the Fact-Finding Team (TPF) for Munir’s case.
Should the Attorney General’s Office found the document, the President has ordered the Attorney General to build on it. “It will be investigated further whether there are any new evidence which can be followed up,” Johan said Wednesday at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, adding that police may also be involved.
Johan said that Munir’s case is part of the agenda the government aims to resolve. The resolution of Munir’s case is part of the legal reform efforts, according to Johan.
On the same occasion, Legal Division Special Staff, the State Secretary Ministry, Alexander Lay said that KIP ruled that the State Secretary Ministry shall publish its statements made in court. “The Ministry does not have the TPF’s document,” he said.
According to Alexander, the State Secretary has been searching for the document but had failed to find it. “We did not administer the Keppres [Presidential Regulation No. 111/2004) issuance nor have we been interacting with the TPF,” he said.
