TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil is exploring the possibility of establishing business cooperation with Seoul city government, including in the economy and culture sector.
Ridwan said that he is planning to develop a South Korean-themed commercial and cultural center in Bandung. "I have plans to establish economic and cultural relationship with South Korea; we will develop Korea Street in Bandung. We will find the perfect location," Ridwan said at Graha Sanusi of Padjadjaran University, Bandung on Monday, October 10, 2016.
Ridwan said that the buildings in Korea Street economic and cultural center will be leased to South Korean business owners. "The lessee of the buildings will be South Korean businessmen in order to achieve more concrete relations with South Korea," Ridwan said.
Ridwan however, has reassured that Bandung business owners should have nothing to worry about because Bandung will always be open for trade.
"The world has become more open. A city must engage in trade. We shouldn't worry about the influx of [foreign] businessmen. This is an international city, anyone are allowed to and can open businesses as long as they follow the rules," Ridwan noted.
