Ridwan Kamil to Send Bandung`s Best Officials to S. Korea

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil plans to send the city’s best performing civil servants back to school in South Korea as part of cooperation between Bandung administration and South Korean government.
According to Ridwan Kamil, familiarly known as Kang Emil, Bandung administration has established cooperation with the South Korean government on education for government apparatus. “Every best performing sub-district, village head will be sent back to public policy school,” he said on Thursday, October 6, 2016.
Mayor Emil departed for South Korea on Wednesday night, October 5, to follow through with plans to establish cooperation. “I’m departing for South Korea to sign a MoU to cooperate on South Korea’s assistance for Bandung City,” he said.
Earlier, Kang Emil was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to unveil two Little Bandung stores.
Aside from cooperation on education for government apparatus, Bandung will also receive funding from South Korea for a wide range of transportation study. Kang Emil has also received social assistance from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (Koica).
He specifically said that his administration is exploring the possibility of opening Little Bandung store in South Korea. “I will conduct location survey for Little Bandung,” he noted.
Kang Emil has also established similar cooperation with Singapore. Several Bandung administration officials have been given the opportunity to learn about Singapore’s smart city administration.
