TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Energy Ministry claimed that the government cannot yet realize the eradication of premium fuel, despite the fact that public starts shifting from using premium. The eradication will have to wait for the preparation of Pertamina oil rigs.
“We will adjust the roadmap to oilrig revitalization in 2021,” said Director General of Oil and Gas, I.G.N. Wiratmaja Puja.
Pertamina noted that premium consumption has declined, following the rise of Pertalite, 90 octane fuel. In July 2016, premium consumption is still at 64,600 kiloliters per day. In August, the number dropped to 55,400 kiloliters per day. It dropped again to 50,500 kiloliters per day in September.
“Previously, the average was at 75,000 kiloliters per day. The trend is declining," said Pertamina sppokesperson, Wianda A. Pusponegoro.
“Pertalite is on demand, not only by consumers, but also by gas station owners," said Wianda.
