TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - General Director for Primary and Middle School Ministry of Education and Culture, Hamid Muhammad says that the distribution of Indonesian Smart Card (KIP) across the nation is almost done. In line with the report made by the KIP delivery service provider that the Ministry received, up until September 28, 2016, there were 17.067.951 from the total of 17.9 million cards that have been received by the rightful people.
Hamid said that officials must still distribute the remainder of the KIP cards. He said that there are still 765,193 KIP cards are still being distributed. While 94,164 of them returned by the recipient.
According to Hamid, the reasons for those returned KIP’s was because of unknown recipients, have moved out from their current address, passed away, or have graduated school. “There are also recipients that rejected because they can afford school themselves,” Hamid said onFriday, September 30, 2016.
In actuality the distribution of KIP’s is behind schedule. Before, the distribution was conducted by two state appointed distributors, which were PT Atria Antaran Prima and PT Dexter Ekspresindo, the distribution was planned to be done by August 23, 2016. But there were a sew obstacles in the region of East Indonesia and border areas.
Hamid urges KIP recipients to register their cards to their schools.
Hamid understands that there are students that deserve the card but has not received it yet. He urges that they use a certificate for the poor as a requirement of the Smart Indonesia Program. The ministry said that there is still 8,6 million students that have not been recorded as a KIP recipient.
The distribution of the KIP card is accompanied with the educational funds. Hamid said that the authorities have distributed those funds to 10,2 million students. With 3.9 million students having liquidizing the fund at distributor banks, one of it is BNI Bank and BRI.
