TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police General Inspector Comr. Gen. Dwi Priyatno said as many as 125 police officers have been dismissed for drug dealing.
“They were either users or dealers,” Priyatno said Wednesday during a visit to South Sulawesi Police headquarters.
According to Priyatno, dishonorable discharge from police department had been issued nationwide in the past five years.
He said that he will not tolerate any of police members involved in drug case. Priyatno did not deny that many had been willing to sacrifice their police career for drug dealing.
In Parepare Police Precinct a police officer has been arrested after attempting to smuggle 5kg of crystal meth in August.
“The dossier has not been completed yet,” said Parepare Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Pria Budi.
Pria said the police personnel used to serve at Parepare Police Precinct public service center. He said that he was a druglord who procured the 5kg of meth from Tarakan in North Kalimantan.
