TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public prosecutor of the trial of the alleged murder of Wayan Mirna Salihin by her friend Jessica Kumala Wongso brought in a police officer from Australia, John Jesus Torres, as a witness on Monday, September 26, 2016.
In his testimony during the trial, Torres explained that there is an arrest warrant for Jessica from the New South Wales Court on December 26, 2015. The New South Wales court, according to Torres, issued a temporary restraining order against Jessica related to a report made by Patrick O'Connor, Jessica's former lover, to the police.
The warrant contains O'Conner's concerns against Jessica and O'Conner himself, and contains binding regulations that must to be signed by Jessica to protect O'Conner from Jessica's unwanted behaviour.
"The court order was not attended by Miss Wongso [Jessica]. The court then suspended the case until February 4, 2016, and the next trial would be on February 26, 2016," Torres said.
At the time, Jessica was already suspected to be involved with the murder case of Wayan Mirna Salihin in Indonesia. Jessica was accused of putting cyanide into the Mirna’s coffee, causing death.
