TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police holds on Friday inaugurations and transfer of authority of four National and Regional Police top brass at the Police Headquarters, South Jakarta.
Inspector General Mochamad Iriawan, previously served as Police Internal Affairs Bureau (Propam) chief, has been appointed as Jakarta Metro Police chief. Iriawan fills the post left by Inspector General Moechgiyarto.
Moechgiyarto served as Jakarta Metro Police chief after being appointed in March 2016, replacing Tito Karnavian who was named as the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT). Moechgiyarto now serves as Police Academy chief, replacing Sr. Comr. General Syafruddin, who now serves as Police deputy chief. Moechgiyarto will today be inaugurated by Police chief General M. Tito Karnavian.
The event is attended by the National Police generals and some invitees, such as the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) members Poengky Indarti and Bekto Suprapto, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) chief General Budi Gunawan, as well as the Agriculture and Spatial Planning Minister Sofyan Djalil.
