Tax Amnesty`s Declared Assets at Rp1,542tn

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The total amount of assets declared by 134,829 taxpayers in the tax amnesty program has reached Rp1,542.64 trillion (US$118.6 billion), based on the statistical data released by the Finance Ministry’s Tax Directorate General on Friday, September 23, 2016.

Of the total amount, the Rp1,035 trillion (US$79.6 billion) are domestic assets and Rp428 trillion (US$32.9 billion) are foreign assets. As much as Rp79.7 trillion (US$6.1 billion) of Indonesian assets parked overseas have been repatriated. The amount of tax retribution collected from the taxpayers stands at Rp37.02 trillion (US$2.8 billion).

The retribution fee comprises of Rp32.6 trillion (US$2.5 billion) is from non-SME individual taxpayers, the Rp3.15 trillion (US$242.3 million) from non-SME corporate taxpayers, a Rp1.21 trillion (US$93 million) from SME individual taxpayers, and Rp44 billion (US$3.3 million) from SME corporate taxpayers.

The total number of taxpayers, both who have submitted their declaration letters and otherwise, stands at 135,035. In total, the amount of retribution fee from both groups stands at Rp45.17 trillion (US$3.4 billion).

The tax amnesty program was first rolled out on July 19, 2016, targeting to collect additional state revenues amounting to Rp165 trillion (US$12.6 billion) in the Revised 2016 State Budget.
