TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned energy company Pertamina said that the first shipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Iran to Indonesia will be done on September 26, 2016. The shipment is a cooperation between Pertamina and state-owned National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
"The agreement has been signed, and the plan is to make the first shipment on September 26 and 27," Pertamina's Senior Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Daniel Purba said Wednesday, September 21.
Daniel said that the high demand for LPG in Indonesia forces the company to het supply from Iran. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed in August 8, marking the LPG purchase agreement for 2016 and 2017.
The first shipment will bring 44,000 metric tons (MT) of supply, which consists of 22,000 MT of propane (C3) and 22,000 MT of butane (C4).
