TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama said he will register as a gubernatorial candidate to Jakarta General Election Commission (KPUD) today, September 21, 2016.
Ahok said he will register with his running mate Djarot Saiful Hidayat. “I will register at noon after lunch, along with Pak Djarot. But first, we have to sign the forms. Pak Djarot is still at work. We will sign them all [later]. To fill them and depart shortly afterwards,” he said at the City Hall.
Ahok said officials of three political parties who endrose him, namely Nasdem, Hanura and Golkar, will accompany him to register to Jakarta KPUD. Ahok said they would depart together by a bus to minimize congestion.
The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) officially announced on Tuesday its endorsement of Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Saiful Hidayat pairing for governor and deputy governor. Earlier, Ahok had secured the backing of Nasdem, Golkar and Hanura.
