TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) confirmed that Singaporean financial institutions will not hamper the implementation of tax amnesty program in Indonesia.
Irwan Lubis, OJK's Deputy Commissioner of Banking Supervision said that the OJK is certain that banks and related authorities in Singapore will not conduct counter-productive actions in relation to Indonesi's tax amnesty program.
"Considerations have been made in terms of inter-authorities and banking institutions relationships. In Indonesia, there are four banks affiliated with Singaporean companies, the total number of assets [of these banks] has reached US$35 billion," Irwan said on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
Irwan added that the OJK looks forward to maintaining a conducive relationship, and added that Singapore is committed to fully support the tax amnesty program.
"The subsidiary companies affiliated with Singaporean banks also continue to communicate with its principal in relation to the tax amnesty program," Irwan added.
