TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Clinical psychiatrist Irmansyah has been brought into court to provide testimony in Wayan Mirna Salihin’s murder case. Irmansyah testified that defendant Jessica Wongso was unlikely to murder Wayan Mirna Salihin.
Irmansyah’s statement was based on psychological assessment of Jessica by forensic psychiatrist Natalia Widiasih Raharjanti. The assessment shows that Jessica was somewhat impulsive in the past year due to relationship problems.
According to Irmansyah, Jessica’s aggressive behavior, which stemmed from disappointment over his personal problems, would not have made her think about hurting people. “The possibility was there, but based on my experience, it’s highly unlikely,” he said Thursday evening at Central Jakarta District Court.
Asked if Jessica would have harmed Mirna following Mirna’s advice to Jessica when they met in Australia in 2014, Irwansyah said such advice would have little or no effect on possible violence.
More so because both reunited in Jakarta in late 2015 to spend time together for a considerable time. “In addition, neither expressed disappointment. The examination by dr. Natalia and her team had also shown that Jessica had no problem with Mirna,” he said.
