Tommy Soeharto: Cendana Family will Join Tax Amnesty Program

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hutomo Mandala Putra, also known as Tommy Suharto, participated in the tax amnesty program on Thursday. He believed that Cendana family will also join the tax amnesty program, which is effective from July 19, 2016, to March 31, 2017.
“I haven’t spoken to them. But I believe they will join the program,” said the son of the second president of the Republic of Indonesia Soeharto on the Cendana family’s enthusiasm for the tax amnesty program.
Tommy said that he had reported his cash, receivables and shares. Tommy, however, declined comment on the total assets being reported. “It’s confidential,” a smiling Tommy said.
Tommy went on to say that most of the assets he reported are stashed overseas, adding that he would repatriate the assets. “They must be repatriated after being declared. But I still have time to repatriate them before year-end,” Tommy said.
