Indonesia Slumped to 3-2 Defeat to Thailand in AFF U19 Game

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian national U19 football team has slumped to 3-2 defeat at the hands of Thailand in Group B of the AFF U19 Championship in Vietnam Youth Training Center, Hanoi, Wednesday evening, September 14, 2016.
Indonesia took the lead after Dimas Drajad converted from the penalty spot in the 16th minute. The referee awarded a penalty to Indonesia, having spotted a deliberate handball by a Thai player in the penalty box.
One minute later, the referee gave another penalty to Indonesia following a foul on Sandi Pratama in the penalty area. Dimas Drajad converted once again to make it 2-0 to Indonesia.
Thailand reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 34th minute. Thailand’s no 28 Sittichok Phaso fired the ball into the top corner after receiving a cross from the left wing.
One minute into the second half, Phaso nodded home to level the scoring 2-2 after a scrappy deflected shot.
Thailand led 3-2 in 54th minute through Worachit Kanitsribampen. He recieved a through ball before lobbing it pass the goalkeeper, which failed to be cleared by two Indonesian players.
Indonesia created some chances in the dying minutes but failed to capitalize. Eduard Tjong’s team had to concede to Thailand superiority.
