TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) said Makassar, South Sulawesi, is ‘90 percent ready’ to hold the association’s congress on October 17, 2016.

Acting PSSI Chairman Hinca Panjaitan in Makassar said Tuesday that the organization is well-prepared to hold a successful congress to elect new PSSI chairman, deputy chairman and executive committee members.

“As of this [Tuesday] afternoon, we will proceed with the initial plan [to hold the congress in Makassar], everything is 90 percent ready. Next, we shall wait on readiness of South Sulawesi Police who will coordinate with the National Police Headquarters to issue or give the recommendation,” he said.

Hinca said that South Sulawesi provincial government and Makassar administration have also expressed their commitment to becoming a successful host.

“The point is, Makassar is ready, the central and local organizing committee members have done their homework leading up to the organization and success of the upcoming congress,” he said.

On the same occasion, Hinca as the representative of PSSI expressed his utmost appreciation to South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo and Makassar Mayor Moh Ramadhan Pomanto for their support and response for PSSI congress in Makassar. “I would like to extend our gratitude for an overwhelming welcome from South Sulawesi Governor, Makassar Mayor, Deputy South Sulawesi Police and all parties during our visit to Makassar to hold the congress on October 17,” he said.
