TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The U-19 Indonesian national team kicked off its AFF Championship with a bad start after being beaten by Myanmar 2-3 in their first match in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Monday, September 12, 2016.
Just 11 minute into the game, Myanmar managed to lead after Aung Kaung Mann successfully scored a goal through a corner kick. Indonesia scored an equalizer through the foot of Pandi Ahmad Lestaluhu five minutes later.
Myanmar regained their lead the 27th minute thanks to Zwe Thet Paing's goal, followed by Indonesia’s second goal by Sandi Pratama in the 43rd minute. However, on the second half Shwe Ko’s goal put Myanmar back in the lead once again. The score lasted until the match ends.
The loss has put Indonesia in a difficult situation ahead of their next matches. The Indonesian U-19 national team will face Thailand on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. The team will later face other clubs in Club B, namely Australia, Laos and Cambodia.
