TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Yogyakarta branch of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced that France had been the major market for Yogyakarta’s essential oil and perfume products in July 2016 with an export value recorded at almost US$700,000.
“The products are to be processed and resold to other countries, including Indonesia,” Indonesia University’s public policy analyst Pattrick Wauran said in Yogyakarta on Monday, September 12, 2016.
Data from the BPS revealed that Yogyakarta’s essential oil and perfume products had reached five major countries and other parts of the world. The top market country for the products was France with a market share of 63.08 percent, followed by the United States with a market share of 7.98 percent, the United Kingdom with 4,94 percent, the Netherlands with 4.41 percent, and Japan with 0.14 percent. The rest accounted for 19.45 percent of the total market share.
The BPS also recorded that the total export value for essential oil, cosmetics and perfume products stood at US$1.1 million in July 2016, increasing by 15.33 percent compared to that in June 2016 at US$954,596.
