TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The hype around Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2 (What’s Up with Love 2) movie is yet to subside. The film, abbreviated as AADC 2, had screened in several events held by communities. Some communities held public viewing events and discussions with the production team and actors.
“I see a pattern here: screenings in theaters, DVD sales, and now screenings in communities, including that of in Australia yesterday,” the film’s director Riri Riza told Tempo yesterday at Miles production house, Bintaro.
Having been screened in Australia, the film is scheduled to feature in several cities in Europe. Actor Nicholas Saputra, actress Adinia Wirasti and poet Aan Mansyur will represent the production team in the events.
According to Riri, aside from screenings in Europe, the AADC 2 will open the Focus on Asia International Film Festival Fukuoka 2016 onSeptember 14.
Riri Riza and the film’s producer Mira Lesmana attended yesterday the Ciné Macet at the Institut Français d'Indonésie, Thamrin, Central Jakarta, which alternately screens Indonesian and French film on a regular basis. “The film will screen in Japan and another festival I can’t mention yet,” Riri said.
Mira added that after screenings in Australia and Europe, it will screen in the United States. The screenings are not arranged by her team, but is based on market demand, he claimed. “We are no longer arranging it, it’s on demand. In Australia, students were the one who organized the tour, likewise in Europe and later in the United States,” Mira said at the IFI.
