TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The step use of the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) is deemed more helpful. Because revenue from the ERP can be used to subsidize public transport in the capital.
"ERP is more effective than odd-even system, because produce money. It will subsidize our public transport," disclosed Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), at City Hall, Tuesday (8/30).
Basuki hopes if all run well, all public transports can be free. Moreover, ERP is also deemed success in Singapore.
"That ever I said before, we would better imitate technology that has run for ten years in Singapore or Europe. But the system must be open," he expressed.
Currently, ERP is still under tender process and targeted to be applied in 2017. He also added that hundreds of companies already registered in prequalification of ERP tender that has been running since July 29, 2016.
"Maybe it might be run next year. Because it is very effective to limit vehicle volume," he disclosed.
