President to Attend Groundbreaking of Pancasila-Palmerah Bridge

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo will attend the groundbreaking of Pancasila-Palmerah bridge in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The bridge will connect Flores and Adonara, crossing 800 meters of ocean.
"The Ground Breaking will coincide the Nusantara Day, in Lembata District on December 13," said Head of Public Works Office in NTT, Andre Koreh.
He added that President Jokowi has asked NTT Governor, Frans Lebu Raya, to attend the ground breaking. "It was actually the president's request," he said.
Andre said that the office is currently on feasibility study tender which will use Rp 10 Billion of state budget. The tender is expected to finish in time, therefore the contract can be signed on September 16.
Meanwhile, Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, said that the bridge construction is a perfect solution in connecting islands in NTT. "It is in line with the government's nawacita program," he said.
