Foreign, Health Ministries Mull Travel Warning over Zika Threat

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Health Ministry address the issue of Zika virus threat, as it was reported in Singapore and reportedly Indonesian coasts. But the foreign ministry has yet to ensure if it will issue a travel warning to Indonesian citizens or not.
"We are coordinating the matter with the health ministry," said Arrmanatha Nasir, the ministry's spokesperson.
Australia, Taiwan, and South Korea, has issued a travel warning for its citizens leaving to Singapore. They advised that pregnant women or those on pregnancy plan should not travel to Singapore.
Singapore's Health Ministry has confirmed that there are 26 new cases of Zika. In total, the number of case ni Singapore has reached 82 cases.
Meanwhile, Health Minister, Nila F Moeloek, has confirmed that there are cases of Zika in Jambi, but the number has not been confirmed.
