TEMPO.CO, Bangkalan - Bangkalan Police, East Java, have started publishing the criminal's face - unveiling them, starting from Monday, August 29, 2016.
The Public Relation Department has released five pictures of criminals from Konang and Socah Precinct. "We follow the chief of police's instruction," said Chief of Bangkalan Police, Sr. Comr. Anisullah M Ridha Monday, August 29, 2016.
Anis said that publishing the criminal's identity to the public is not a new thing in the police. But it has become unusual, as the police veil them for innocence presumption.
"I personally think it does not matter. It does not violate the presumption. Investigators must have two evidence before naming them as suspects," he said.
Anis explained that there are two reasons why the suspects are unveiled. The first reason is to impose deterrent effect, while the second reason is to assist the police in resolving cold cases.
