TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the current oil and gas production ready for sale (lifting) is still quite good.
However, according to Luhut, efforts must be made to improve the search or exploration of oil and gas in Indonesia.
"One of the ways is by working with the Navy," said Luhut in South Jakarta on Friday (26/8).
Luhut explained added that the reserve of oil and gas is currently low; thus, cooperation with the Navy will focus on exploration of oil and gas by deploying ships of the Navy.
"Navy ships will also be programmed to carry out studies in the ocean because now there’s a lot of oil in the sea," Luhut added.
Luhut further said Indonesia should be more efficient in the face of current global economic conditions.
"We have to work more efficiently and there should be a teamwork," he concluded.
