TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 49 local and international art galleries are set to enliven Bazaar Art 2016 at The Ritz Carlton Ballroom, Pacific Place, Jakarta, on August 25 to 28, 2016. Aside from displaying various works of art, the annual art exhibition will feature art performances and a number of special projects as well as short courses.
“There will be 19 local [art galleries] and 23 foreign galleries namely from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Spain, France,” Vivi Yip, Marketing Director of Bazaar Art 2016, told Tempo on Wednesday.
Vivi explained that several prominent galleries will participate in the event, namely foreign ones such as iPreciation Gallery and Ota Fine Arts. And local galleries such as Edwin Gallery, Canna, Equator, Art One, ROH Project and Lawangwangi.
The artists to be involved in the event are Eko Nugroho, Eddie Hara, Nyoman Erawan, Entang Wiharso and Astari Rasjid. Oky Rey Montha will make a painting on the spot, whereas Tere will create an installation from dried lavender flowers.
Bazaar Art has been held annually since 2009. Last year’s exhibition was participated by no less than 550 artists and featured 1,650 works of art.
