TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police arrested a marijuana dealer identified with the initials of ID, 29, Wednesday in Hegar Mukti Village, Central Cikarang. Police have also seized a box of dried marijuana weighing 1kg.
Having been questioned, ID confessed to have stored more marijuana in his house in Boga Salam Hamlet, Hegar Mukti. “Having checked [his house], there were a total of 295 boxes of marijuana wrapped in duct tape. Weighing roughly 295kg,” Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Division Sr. Comr. Awi Setiyono told Tempo on Thursday.
Awi added that the suspect obtained the marijuana from a man identified with the intial of U. The suspect claimed that he had only met U four months ago. He was introduced to U by his parent during their jail time for drug case. “ID is U’s right-hand man, was trusted as a warehouse keeper as well as a courier,” he said.
During his time as a courier, ID claimed that he was paid Rp20 million along with Rp2 million in commission fee in each transaction. Police are currently pursuing suspect U. “ID claims he doesn’t know where U’s house was, but we have obtained information from ID’s parent to trace U’s address,” Awi said.
