TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The construction of intermediate treatment facility (ITF) is now being intensified. As planned, a groundbreaking for Sunter ITF will be done in the upcoming October.
Deputy Head of Jakarta Sanitary Dept., Ali Maulana Hakim disclosed, on a 5-hectare land, there would be ITF from PT Jakpro. It can accommodate trash up to 1,000 tons per day.
"ITF construction will take about 18 months or maximal 12 years," he expressed, Wednesday (8/24).
It is hoped could minimize trash volume overcome trash problem in Bantar Gebang Landfill, Bekasi. Moreover, at this time, trash can hit 9,000-10,000 per day.
"PT Jakpro will build ITF, while awaiting the readiness of some private investors that are also prepared to build the ITF," he finished.
