Indonesia Boss Names 23-men Squad for AFF U19 Championship

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The U19 Indonesian national team head coach Eduard Tjong has named Indonesia’s 23-men squad ahead of the U19 AFF Championship in Hanoi, Vietnam, September 11-24.

The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) media center data does not list Samuel Cristianson in the squad. The left full-back did not make the cut as he has yet to recover from injury.

“Samuel has been dropped [from the squad] because I fear that he could suffer a recurrence. We monitored his training load at Yogyakarta training center. In the end, he has been dropped by the coaching team,” Eduard Tjong said in a press release, as quoted by Antara news agency.

Having named his squad to play in Vietnam, Eduard Tjong will continue his preparation by arranging friendlies against Persikama Magelang District at Gemilang Stadium Bumirejo on August 24 and PSIM Yogyakarta at Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, on August 26.

Whereas international friendlies are set for next week.
