TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan will pitch four projects to Saudi investors during his visit to the country.
According to Luhut, The first project is the expansion of refineries in Cilacap, Dumai, and Balongan. Second, he will follow up Saudi Arabia’s interest in the development of coal-fueled thermal power plant projects worth 2x500 megawatts in Sumatra.
In addition, he will also discuss a tourism project in Padang, West Sumatra. Luhut revealed that the West Sumatra provincial government had prepared a 1,000-hectare land for the project.
The last project to be discussed with the Saudi investors is Pertamina’s plan to supply aviation turbine fuel in the King Fahd Airport in Saudi Arabia. The Minister said that the investment value remained unknown, but he would ensure that the interest expressed by the Saudi investors would be realized.
“A team will depart for Saudi Arabia next week to finalize the projects. We’re not only aiming for signings but also concrete [projects],” Luhut said in Jakarta on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.
