TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Public Relation Division chief Insp. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said police had destroyed marijuana fields last week in Agusen Village, Blangkejeran Sub-district, Gayo Lues District, Aceh.
“A joint team of the National Police and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) led by Aceh Police chief have found marijuana field in Rere Toa mountains,” Boy said in his office, Jakarta, Monday, August 22, 2016.
Police had only destroyed marijuana fields in two out of four locations. Roughly 2 hectares of marijuana fields were found in the first location. As many as 1,995 out of 2,000 marijuana stems were destroyed. The rest have been confiscated as evidence.
In the second location, police found 3 hectares of marijuana fields planted with 3,000 marijuana stems. Some 495kg were destroyed, whereas 5kg have been seized as evidence.
“The remaining 10 hectares in two locations will be destroyed by [police] and the central BNN who will come to Gayo Lues,” Boy said. “Allegedly planted by local residents.”
