TEMPO.CO, Kupang - Earthquake has hit Sumba Island, East Nusa Tenggara, almost every day in the past couple of weeks. The most recent earthquake was of 3.6 magnitudes on Sunday, August 21.
"Sumba tectonic crust is (highly) active," said the head of data and information at the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics in Kupang, Sumawan.
The quakes that hit Sumba have been in a range of 2 to 5 magnitude. There have been no records of damage, but the series of quakes have sent people into the constant panic.
