TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) simultaneously opened its Go Public Information Center in four cities in Indonesia, including Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, and Medan. The event coincides with the organizing of the Investor Summit and Capital Market Expo 2016, held at the Grand City Surabaya on Thursday, August 18, 2016.
Previously, BEI's first Go Public Information Center was established in Jakarta on June 27, 2016. "The Go Public Information Center was established so that issuer no longer need to travel to Jakarta if they want to know how to go public," BEI CEO Tito Sulistio said.
Tito expected that the information center could make BEI closer to potential firms in regions, including East Java. Comprehensive information can be obtained on the benefits of go public for a company, starting from requirements, up to Initial Public Offering preparatory with underwriters.
According to Tito, issuers can also have an intensive discussion with Capital Market Supporting Professionals located in Jakarta via video conference. "Therefore, company owner and company management in need of funding can understand that the process to go public is not as complicated and as expensive as they had imagined," Tito said.
After the four major cities, Tito hoped that the Go Public Center Information can be established in all BEI representative offices. “Within the next three months, all 20 BEI representative offices are expected to be able to provide information on go public,” said Tito.
