TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesperson for the Immigration, Heru Santoso, said that his team is currently checking the passport of Energy Minister, Arcandra Tahar. "We are cross-checking his passport," said Heru. "We can see which passport he uses. We will publish it."
Previously, Arcandra Tahar is reported to have double citizenship; as an Indonesian and as a United States citizen.
Arcandra denied and claimed that he is still an Indonesian citizen, "I am still an Indonesian citizen. Be my guess, check my passport," he said.
He added that he still own the Indonesian passport, although having been in the States for 20 years. "My passport is still valid," he said.
State Secretary, Pratikno, backed Arcandra's statement, saying that he is still an Indonesian citizen. He added that Arcandra owns a passport that is valid until 2017.
