TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Defendant of Mayan Mirna Salihin murder case, Jessica Kumala Wongso, raised objections to the testimony of digital forensic expert witnesses in yesterday’s trial at Central Jakarta District Court. “I raise objections to some statements made by the experts, but I will only talk when my time has come to be questioned,” Jessica said Wednesday.
In the trial, the prosecutors brought two digital forensic expert witnesses, namely Adj. Sr. Comr. M. Nuh Al Azhar and Christopher Hariman Rianto.
In their testimony, both digital expert witnesses highlighted Jessica’s weird behaviour in CCTV footage, in which Jessica rubs her hand, changes her seat and seems to be collecting something from her bag, which she puts on the table afterwards.
Jessica has raised objections to the video footage analysis. However, he decline to make further comment.
Aside from Jessica, the leader of her defense team, Otto Hasibua, continued to raise objection, citing the originality of the CCTV footage brought by the experts. “He himself said that it has already been copied. I only believe in the original CCTV [footage],” he said.
Wayan Mirna Salihin, Jessica’s close friend, died drinking Vietnamese coffee at Olivier cafe Grand Indonesia on January 6, 2016. Later, cyanide was found in the coffee. The prosecutors have charged Jessica with violating Article 340 of Indonesian Criminal Code on Premeditated Murder.
